Yahoo Enlightens Me

As I read about Yahoo buying out Tumblr I worried a little. After all, Yahoo has a history of buying and ruining services and communities like Tumblr. As I read about all the people worried about what would happen to their blogs, I couldn’t really relate. And, then it hit me. I don’t really blog so much on Tumblr as read a lot of blogs on Tumblr. Maybe that’s because I have my own blogs elsewhere:

  1. Freelance writing blog
  2. Personal finance advice blog
  3. Parenting blog
  4. Personal blog
  5. Etc…..

Or, maybe it’s because I’ve always felt like I wasn’t a Tumblr insider and I didn’t want to ruin it for everyone else. So, mostly, I like to reblog. Anyway, Yahoo opened my eyes to my true involvement on Tumblr. Maybe I’ll change, or maybe they will, either way, it could be interesting.

Was looking at cruises and noticed this: “Royal Caribbean International reserves the right to impose a fuel supplement on all guests if the price of West Texas Intermediate fuel exceeds $65.00 per barrel. The fuel supplement for 1st and 2nd guests would be no more than $10 per guest per day, to a maximum of $140 per cruise; and for additional guests would be no more than $5 per person per day, to a maximum of $70 per cruise.” In other words, our prices are actually $140 per person higher, because it’s been DECADES since the price was below $65. We’re just scumbags who choose to hide the actual cost of a cruise while blaming it on “high” fuel prices, which are actually just the reality of current fuel prices. Gotta love the fine print.
